The Directorate of Municipal Administration, GoK with the assistance of MRC has launched e-Governance reforms in Urban Local Bodies to bring in transparency in administration, accountability and better municipal citizen interface. PGR (Public Grievances and redressal system has been established with separate cabin with basic infrastructure.  The ULB are able to issue computerized Birth & Death certificate of 1989 and later years. Citizens are requested to use PGR services by making phone call to: 08396-248228 between morning 08.00AM till evening 08.00PM or by emailing to itstaff_ulb_tekkalakote@yahoo.in .



Brief History of Town:


Tekkalakote town with a population of about 26247 (as per 2011 census, Male-13011 and Female-13235) is an important trading center in Bellary District. It is located at a distance of 9km from Siruguppa taluk .and 45 km from Bellary district. It is an active commercial center know for its Paddy/Rice trade. Nolamba Pallava king  Jagadakamalla is said to have ruled Tekkalakote during 1022AD as a subordinate to be their provincial capital. Later, Kamplilaraya ruled Tekkalakota during the 12th Century. It was attacked many times by Raja, the Chola king and chalukya Vijayaditya.
